CHAMONIX-MONT-BLANC - FRANCE
From 13 to 15 November, Union Members were invited to explore the Host City of the 1924 Winter Olympic Games, the first ones in Olympic history. As Chamonix is celebrating in 2024 the centenary of its Games, there wa no better moment to visit the home of mountainering (but not only). These intense celebrations punctuated the entire year 2024 and Chamonix shared its way of celebrating a centenary while anchoring the legacy of these celebrations and this activation in the present and the future.
WEDNESDAY, 13 NOVEMBER
14:30 : Transfer by train from Lausanne to Chamonix-Mont-Blanc
19:00 : Welcoming words at the City Hall
20:00 : Dinner
THURSDAY, 14 NOVEMBER
9:00 – 11:30 : Taking height to the Brevent by cable car, to enjoy one of the best views on the Mont-Blanc

11:45 : Group picture in front of the Olympic rings
12:15 – 13:45 : Lunch
14:00 – 16:30 : Diving into the traces of the 1924 Winter Olympic Games. Visit of the Chamonix 1924 ski jumping hill “du Mont” and the the original and renovated Chamonix 1924 bobsleigh track
17:30 – 19:00 : Roundtable discussion: Sustainability and event hosting
20:30 : Dinner
FRIDAY, 15 NOVEMBER
9:30 – 12:00 : Visit of the “Chamonix 1924” indoor exhibition, visit of the winter edition “Olympic posters” outdoor exhibition in Chamonix City Centre
12:00 – 13:30 : Lunch
14:00 : Transfer by bus from Chamonix to Geneva International Airport (arrival at around 15:30) and then to Lausanne (arrival around 16:30)
