Augustin Senghor

Augustin Emmanuel Senghor is a Senegalese lawyer and seasoned sports leader who has dedicated over three decades to the development of football and sport in Africa. President of the Senegalese Football Federation from 2009 to 2025, he led the federation to an unprecedented achievement — five continental titles in a single year. He served as President of the Senegalese Football Federation from 2009 to 2025 and as 1st Vice-President of CAF. He has held numerous roles within FIFA and African football governance, bringing both legal expertise and institutional vision to the highest levels of the game. Beyond football, Senghor has been Mayor of the historic Gorée Island and Deputy Mayor of Dakar since 2002, combining his commitment to sport with a strong engagement in local governance and community development. He is also an Arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne since 2012, reflecting his dual expertise in law and sports administration.
