Building skills and local expertise is an powerful legacy of the Games. On 7 May 2025  the Dakar 2026 Learning Academy was launched.

Over the course of two weeks, the first 41 participants received trainings and benefited from soft-skill development sessions. In total, the programme will train 400 young people who will not only support the Dakar 2026 Organizing Committee during the Youth Olympic Games, but will also contribute to building event-management skills across Senegal and Africa in the long term.
