Built upon the popular success of the 2008 Olympic Summer Games and the new status of Beijing as an Olympic City, the Olympic Education Programme contributes to the spread of Olympic ideals and promotes the harmonious development of young people’s minds and bodies.

Since 2010, more than 1,000 primary and secondary schools and more than 300,000 people have participated in activities based on promoting healthy lifestyles, practicing sports, and fostering the Olympic spirit of mutual understanding, friendship, solidarity and fair play.
