On Friday, 6 October 2023, Mr. Barthelemy Toye DIAS, Mayor of the City of Dakar, inaugurated the Place des Cultures Urbaines de Dakar. In the run up to the 2026 Youth Olympic Games, Dakar takes a new step!

The Place des Cultures Urbaines (PCU) is a new sports and cultural infrastructure for the City of Dakar, with a Skatepark of over 1,000 square metres, a concert venue, a space dedicated to the moving arts, a restaurant, a 750-square-metre esplanade and co-working space, a relaxation area for young people and two grandstands for the public. The Place des Cultures Urbaines, located in the Patte d’Oie social housing district of Grand-Yoff, will promote and defend the new urban practices that are part of Dakar’s social and urban fabric.
