90 and 70 years after hosting the 1928 and 1948 Olympics, St. Moritz will always remain the first dual host of the event. To connect the City’s Olympic past with its present and boost the level of sport-related tourism, St. Moritz has been developing the Sport Tourism Strategy over the years.

The strategy consolidates and builds on the global reputation of St. Moritz as the spiritual home of elite winter sports in order to attract and retain tourists. In addition, St. Moritz managed to diversify and extend its offer beyond the winter season. To fullfill this mission, the St. Moritz Sports & Events Department – the body dedicated to the City’s sports, events and cultural programme – is responsible for the design and implementation of the strategy.
